Designer developed fabric stretching design techniques to generate furniture’s geometries, replicating building processes found in nature.
To generate these organic forms, the designer stretched a single piece of fabric by hand into a three-dimensional form, which was then hardened to transform into the design.
The resulting shapes were not set by the designer. Rather, he allowed the fabrics to deform to generate the final shapes, replicating building processes found in nature. This design is about appreciating nature’s simple, yet advanced design process.

Table R ex07 (Table Radiolaria Experiment07) is the result of designer’s 7th experiment on natural form finding investigation. Table R ex07 was created by stretching a single membrane similar to the previous experiments (Fabric Table R and Table R, which were designed by physically stretching fabric). For the 7th experiment, virtual membrane stretching tools were utilized (developed by mathematicians and TSI COMPANY). As a result, greater precision and finer details for the geometry was achieved. The Final result casted in aluminium alloy was hand crafted and finished.
100% Design 2010 will be the product launch for the Table R ex07 (Table Radiolaria Experiment07) which is part of designer’s long-term investigation into geometry in nature.
